How to Unlock Island 4 in Titan Fishing (2026)

📅 Updated 2026-03-26 islandsprogressiontips

Island 4, known as Kraken’s Domain, is the turning point of Titan Fishing. It is where the game shifts from casual fishing into serious end-game content, with the powerful Kraken boss, S-tier fish spawns, and the coveted Kraken Rod. Unlocking Island 4 requires preparation, but the rewards make it one of the most important milestones in the game.

This guide walks you through everything you need to know: the exact unlock requirements, what gear to bring, and how to survive once you get there.

What Is Island 4 (Kraken’s Domain)?

Kraken’s Domain is the fourth of five islands in Titan Fishing. It is a dark, storm-wracked archipelago surrounded by whirlpools and deep trenches. The island introduces several major features:

  • The Kraken Boss — The signature boss of Island 4. Defeating it drops the S-tier Kraken Rod, the second-best rod in the game.
  • Sunlight Reef — A high-value fishing zone where S-tier Ember Koi spawn. This is one of the best farming spots in Titan Fishing.
  • Upgraded Fish — Island 4 fish sell for significantly more gems than Island 3 catches, boosting your income dramatically.
  • Storm Mechanic — A unique weather system that periodically creates dangerous waves. Fish during storms for bonus rare drops, but watch your health.
  • Kraken’s Vault — A weekly chest that rewards gems, crafting materials, and occasionally skill books.

For most players, reaching Island 4 is when Titan Fishing truly opens up. The gem income jump alone makes the grind worthwhile.

Unlock Requirements

To access Kraken’s Domain, you must meet all three of the following requirements:

1. Reach Level 25

You need to be at least Level 25 to initiate the Island 4 unlock quest. If you are not there yet, focus on completing daily quests, catching fish, and finishing story missions on Islands 1-3. See our Gem Guide for tips on efficient progression — daily quests are a major XP source in addition to their gem rewards.

2. Complete the Island 3 Story Quest Line

All main story quests on Island 3 must be finished. The final quest, “Crystal Depths,” requires you to:

  • Catch 5 Crystal Bass (B-tier, Island 3)
  • Craft or purchase the Golden Rod
  • Defeat the Island 3 mini-boss (the Crystal Golem)

If you are stuck on the Crystal Golem fight, equip your best damage skill book (Lightning Strike or Flame Burst) and make sure you are using at least the Golden Rod. The fight is a DPS check — you need enough Power to break through the Golem’s shield phase within 60 seconds.

3. Pay the Island Unlock Fee (2,000 Gems)

Unlocking Island 4 costs 2,000 gems. This is a one-time fee paid at the Island Map screen. If you do not have enough gems, refer to our Gem Guide for the fastest earning methods. Between codes, daily rewards, and quest completion, most players can save 2,000 gems within 1-2 weeks of focused play.

Meeting the minimum requirements gets you to Island 4, but surviving and thriving there requires proper preparation. Here is what we recommend:

Rod: Golden Rod (Minimum) or Deep Sea Rod

The Golden Rod (Power 650, Luck +15%) is the realistic minimum for Island 4. Its Power stat is high enough to catch most Island 4 fish and contribute meaningful damage in the Kraken fight. If you have not crafted it yet, prioritize this — see the Best Rods Guide for crafting details.

The Deep Sea Rod (Power 600, Luck +12%) from the Island 5 shop is an alternative if you somehow have access, but most players will not have it before Island 4.

Do not attempt Island 4 with the Iron Rod. Its 200 Power is far too low to catch anything valuable, and you will fail the Kraken fight repeatedly.

Skill Books: Tidal Wave + Damage Book

Your ideal loadout for Island 4 is:

  1. Tidal Wave (S-tier) — Essential for the Kraken boss fight. The AoE knockback interrupts the Kraken’s tentacle slam attack, which deals massive damage. Without Tidal Wave, the fight is significantly harder.
  2. Lightning Strike or Flame Burst (A-tier) — You need at least one damage book to meet the DPS requirement for the Kraken.
  3. Lucky Draw (B-tier) — Optional but recommended for the farming phases between boss attempts.

If you do not have Tidal Wave yet, the fight is still possible but much harder. You will need to manually dodge tentacle attacks, which requires precise timing. Consider pulling gacha until you get Tidal Wave — it is worth the gem investment. Check the Skill Book Tier List for more on optimal book selection.

Consumables

Stock up on these before heading to Island 4:

  • Health Potions (x20) — The storm mechanic and Kraken fight both deal unavoidable chip damage
  • Bait Packs (x10) — Island 4 fish require higher-quality bait for optimal catch rates
  • Shield Crystals (x5) — Emergency damage negation for the Kraken’s enrage phase

Step-by-Step Unlock Process

Once you meet all three requirements, here is exactly what to do:

Step 1: Open the Island Map

Tap the map icon in the top-right corner of the main screen. You will see Islands 1-3 unlocked and Island 4 with a lock icon and “Requirements Met” displayed in green.

Step 2: Tap on Island 4

A confirmation dialog will appear showing the 2,000 gem cost. Review your gem balance and confirm the purchase.

Step 3: Complete the Arrival Quest

After unlocking, you are automatically placed on Island 4 with an introductory quest: “Storm Warning.” This quest walks you through the storm mechanic and has you catch your first Island 4 fish. It awards 200 gems, partially offsetting the unlock cost.

Step 4: Explore the Island

Kraken’s Domain has four zones:

  • Stormbreak Shore — The starter zone with moderate fish
  • Sunlight Reef — Premium farming zone for Ember Koi (unlocked after completing 3 Island 4 quests)
  • Whirlpool Depths — Dangerous zone with high-value catches and aggressive fish
  • Kraken’s Lair — Boss arena (unlocked after completing the Island 4 story questline)

Step 5: Progress Through Island 4 Quests

Complete the Island 4 story questline to unlock Kraken’s Lair. The quests require catching specific fish from each zone and surviving a set number of storms. This typically takes 2-3 hours of focused play.

Step 6: Challenge the Kraken

Once Kraken’s Lair is unlocked, you can challenge the Kraken boss once per day (resets at server midnight). The Kraken is the first genuinely difficult boss in Titan Fishing.

What You Will Find on Island 4

The Kraken Boss

The Kraken is an S-tier boss with three phases:

Phase 1 (100%-60% HP): The Kraken uses basic tentacle swipes and ink clouds. Stay mobile and cast between attacks. Use Tidal Wave to interrupt tentacle combos.

Phase 2 (60%-30% HP): The Kraken submerges and spawns whirlpools across the arena. Avoid the whirlpools while dealing damage whenever the Kraken surfaces. Lightning Strike is particularly effective here because the Kraken surfaces briefly — you need burst damage.

Phase 3 (30%-0% HP — Enrage): The Kraken goes berserk with rapid tentacle slams and a massive tidal attack. Pop Shield Crystals during this phase and go all-out on damage. Flame Burst’s DoT is very strong here because you can stack it during the brief calm moments.

Kraken Drops:

  • Kraken Rod (S-tier, Power 820, Luck +20%) — ~15% drop rate
  • Kraken Scale (crafting material) — ~40% drop rate
  • 500 gems — guaranteed on first kill, 100 gems on subsequent kills

New Fish

Island 4 introduces several high-value fish:

  • Ember Koi (S-tier, Power 600) — Sunlight Reef exclusive. Worth 200 gems when sold, or 4,000-6,000 gems in trades.
  • Storm Grouper (A-tier, Power 380) — Common catch across Island 4 zones
  • Thunder Eel (A-tier, Power 350) — Found in Whirlpool Depths during storms

Kraken’s Vault

A weekly reward chest that appears every Monday. Open it for a random selection of gems (200-500), crafting materials, and a small chance at skill books. Always claim it — free resources add up.

Tips for Surviving Island 4

  1. Learn the storm timing. Storms hit every 5 minutes and last 90 seconds. During storms, fish sell value increases by 25% but environmental damage ticks constantly. Fish during storms when you have health potions; take shelter when you are low.

  2. Farm Sunlight Reef before fighting the Kraken. The Ember Koi found at Sunlight Reef sell for top-tier gems and are the best farming target on the island. Build up a gem reserve before spending attempts on the Kraken.

  3. Do not waste Kraken attempts. You only get one fight per day. Make sure your gear is repaired, your consumables are stocked, and your skill books are equipped before entering Kraken’s Lair.

  4. Use the Kraken fight to practice Tidal Wave timing. The best players cancel the Kraken’s tentacle slam with Tidal Wave precisely as the attack begins. This takes practice but makes Phase 3 dramatically easier.

  5. Bring a friend. Island 4 supports co-op play. Having a second player in the Kraken fight effectively doubles your DPS and gives you a backup if one player goes down. Coordinate skill book loadouts so one player runs Tidal Wave and the other runs pure damage.

  6. Do not sell Kraken Scales. They are used to upgrade the Kraken Rod and craft late-game equipment. Hoard every scale you get.

  7. Prepare for Island 5. Once you have the Kraken Rod and a comfortable farming routine on Island 4, start saving for the Island 5 unlock. The Abyssal Trench awaits with even greater rewards — including the Titan Shark and Titan Rod. Check the full Tier List to plan your end-game goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What level should I realistically be for Island 4? While Level 25 is the minimum requirement, we recommend Level 28-30 for a comfortable experience. The extra stat points from those levels help with survivability during storms and the Kraken fight.

Can I unlock Island 4 without the Golden Rod? Technically yes, if you meet the level and quest requirements. But attempting Island 4 content with the Iron Rod (Power 200) is extremely inefficient. You will struggle to catch valuable fish and will not meet the damage threshold for the Kraken’s enrage timer. Craft the Golden Rod first.

How many attempts does the Kraken take to beat? With the recommended gear (Golden Rod + Tidal Wave + damage book), most players beat the Kraken within 3-5 attempts. Without Tidal Wave, expect 10-15 attempts as you learn to dodge manually. Each attempt gets easier as you learn the attack patterns.

What is the Kraken Rod drop rate? The community-estimated drop rate is approximately 15% per kill. On average, players get their Kraken Rod within 5-7 kills. If RNG is not in your favor, you can always trade for one — the Kraken Rod is valued at 8,000-10,000 gems.

Should I skip Island 4 and go straight to Island 5? No. Island 4 must be completed before Island 5 unlocks. Additionally, the Kraken Rod from Island 4 is the recommended minimum rod for Island 5 content. Skipping the Kraken Rod would make Island 5 extremely difficult.
