Trading in Titan Fishing lets you swap rods, fish, and skill books with other players. Introduced in Update 12 (February 2026), the trade system has quickly become one of the most important features in the game. Whether you are looking to get a Kraken Rod without farming the boss or offload duplicate skill books for something you need, this guide covers everything you need to know.
How Trading Works
The trading system was added in Update 12 and has been refined with stability improvements in later patches. Here is how it works:
- Open the Trade Menu — Tap the handshake icon in the bottom navigation bar (available at Level 10+).
- Find a Partner — You can trade with anyone on the same server. Use the search function to find players by username, or tap a player’s avatar in the game world and select “Trade.”
- Add Items — Each player adds up to 4 items to their side of the trade window. You can see exactly what the other player is offering.
- Confirm — Both players must tap “Confirm” within 30 seconds. If either player modifies the trade after the first confirmation, both confirmations reset.
- Complete — Items swap instantly. The trade appears in your Trade History log for 30 days.
There is a 10% gem tax on any trade that includes gems. This tax is deducted from the gem portion automatically. Item-for-item trades have no tax.
Current Trade Values (March 2026)
Trade values fluctuate based on supply and demand, but the community has established rough benchmarks. These values are expressed in gem equivalents:
Rods
| Rod | Rarity | Estimated Value (Gems) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Titan Rod | SS | 15,000–20,000 | Highest value item in the game |
| Kraken Rod | S | 8,000–10,000 | Strong demand, limited supply |
| Golden Rod | A | 3,000–4,000 | Craftable, so supply is higher |
| Deep Sea Rod | A | 2,500–3,500 | Shop-buyable, slightly lower demand |
| Iron Rod | C | 50–100 | Not worth trading |
Fish
| Fish | Rarity | Estimated Value (Gems) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Titan Shark | SS | 10,000–15,000 | Collectors pay premium |
| Ember Koi | S | 4,000–6,000 | Consistently high demand |
| Void Jelly | A | 1,500–2,500 | New, prices still settling |
| Crystal Bass | B | 300–500 | Common, low demand |
| Silver Tuna | C | 20–50 | Not worth trading |
Skill Books
| Book | Rarity | Estimated Value (Gems) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tidal Wave | S | 6,000–8,000 | Most sought-after book |
| Lightning Strike | A | 2,500–3,500 | High demand for boss loadouts |
| Flame Burst | A | 2,000–3,000 | Slightly less demand than Lightning Strike |
| Lucky Draw | B | 400–600 | Cheap in shop, low trade value |
| Quick Cast | D | 50–100 | Essentially worthless in trades |
For details on which books are worth getting, see the Skill Book Tier List.

Best Trades to Make as a Beginner
If you are new to Titan Fishing and just unlocked trading at Level 10, here are the smartest moves:
-
Trade duplicate fish for Lucky Draw. If you have caught several Crystal Bass or other B-tier fish, bundle them in a trade for a Lucky Draw skill book. The +10% drop rate will pay for itself quickly. See the Skill Book Tier List for why Lucky Draw is a great early investment.
-
Sell event fish at a premium. If you participated in the Lunar New Year event and caught a Golden Dragon Carp, its value is 2,000-3,000 gems because it can no longer be obtained. Hold it or trade it for a meaningful upgrade.
-
Do not trade gems for low-tier items. It is tempting to spend gems in trades, but remember the 10% tax. Buy shop items directly when possible. Only trade gems for items you cannot buy (boss drops, gacha books).
-
Save for a Kraken Rod. If you are stuck on Island 3 and cannot beat the Kraken boss, trading for a Kraken Rod (8,000-10,000 gems worth of items) can skip weeks of progression. This is the single best trade a mid-game player can make.
-
Bundle low-value items. Four Crystal Bass (300-500 each) can be worth 1,200-2,000 gems total in a single trade — enough to negotiate for an A-tier skill book.
How to Avoid Scams
The Titan Fishing trade system is relatively safe because both players can see all items before confirming. However, scammers still try to exploit new players. Watch out for these tactics:
The Swap Trick
The scammer shows a valuable item (like a Kraken Rod), then quickly swaps it for a similar-looking but less valuable item right before you confirm. Always double-check both sides of the trade window before confirming. The 30-second re-confirmation window exists specifically to protect against this.
The “Trust Trade”
A player asks you to trade your items first with a promise to send their items in a second trade. Never do trust trades. The trade system supports up to 4 items per side — everything should happen in one transaction. If someone claims they need two trades, they can go first or find another buyer.
The Overpay Bait
A scammer offers you way more than an item is worth, but asks you to add “a small extra” that happens to be very valuable. For example: “I will give you 5,000 gems for your Crystal Bass, just add that Tidal Wave book as a bonus.” If a deal seems too good to be true, it is. Check the value tables above before accepting.
Fake Price Claims
Scammers may tell you an item is worth far less than it actually is. “Kraken Rod is only worth 2,000 gems now, prices dropped.” Always verify values using community resources or this guide. Prices do not change drastically overnight.
Protection Checklist
- Read both sides of the trade carefully before confirming
- Never do split or “trust” trades
- Verify item names and rarities (check for similar names)
- Do not rush — take the full 30 seconds to review
- Screenshot the trade window before confirming (for dispute evidence)
- Report scammers using the in-game report button
Trading Etiquette
The Titan Fishing trading community runs smoother when everyone follows these unwritten rules:
- Do not lowball aggressively. Offering 2,000 gems for a Titan Rod insults the other player. Start negotiations within 20% of fair value.
- Respond to trade requests promptly. If you are not interested, decline rather than ignoring.
- Be transparent about item levels. Skill books can be leveled up, and a Level 3 Tidal Wave is worth significantly more than Level 1. Always state the level.
- Honor agreed prices. If you agree to a trade in chat, follow through. Backing out repeatedly will get you a bad reputation on your server.
- Do not spam trade requests. Sending the same player multiple requests after they decline is reportable behavior.
Trading for Profit
Experienced traders can grow their gem wealth by understanding market cycles:
- Buy during events, sell after. During events that increase skill book drop rates, prices for those books dip temporarily. Buy Tidal Wave during these events and hold it.
- New content spikes. When Update 15 launched Island 5, Deep Sea Rod prices were extremely high for the first week before stabilizing. Early adopters who farmed the shop rod could sell for double its long-term value.
- Boss drops hold value. Items like the Kraken Rod and Titan Rod maintain high trade prices because they cannot be bought from a shop. Check our boss guide for farming strategies that maximize your tradeable drops.
- Bundle deals. Offering a package (rod + book + fish) often fetches 10-15% more than selling items individually because buyers value convenience.
Frequently Asked Questions
What level do I need to trade? You must be Level 10 or above to access the trade system. Both players need to meet this requirement.
Is there a limit on how many trades I can do per day? Yes, free-to-play players can make up to 10 trades per day. There is no limit on trade value per transaction.
Can I trade items across servers? No, trading is limited to players on your same server. Cross-server trading is not currently supported.
What happens if I get scammed? Report the scammer using the in-game report button immediately. The developers can review trade logs and may reverse fraudulent trades within 7 days of the incident. Screenshot evidence helps your case significantly.
Should I trade my Titan Rod? Almost never. The Titan Rod is the best rod in the game and is extremely difficult to re-obtain. The only scenario where trading it makes sense is if you are quitting the game and want to help a friend. See the full Rod Rankings for why it is so valuable.
